And tend to take elements from a lot of different issues in the series. X-MEN is a prime example of that. The only movie I can think of that stayed faithful to the graphic novel was 300. I know there are some movies that people don't realize were graphic novels like The Road to Perdition, A History of Violence, From Hell and Ghost World. But those are all dramas compared to the action superhero flicks. Reading one or two of the vital issues in the comic series for a given film will only serve to give a better background of the characters that might only get a once over in the film. :) The movies take a lot of liberties when they make a movie out of a graphic novel. I am interested in the comics though, to compare to the original. I seem to like superhero movies more than the comics, because the comics all become the same to me after a while.
